Our Mission at Shear

At Shear Boutique we have a strong commitment to providing women with clothing they love to live in. From casual and occasion wear to loungewear and accessories, each piece is carefully selected by our team to suit the lifestyles of busy, multi-faceted women. With new arrivals dropping monthly, we provide a constant supply of timeless and on-trend fashion that empowers women to look and feel their best.

Humble Beginnings

Staci Graeves and Amanda Burton, two moms from the DC suburb of Olney, Maryland, started with a mission to open a luxury hair salon that helped women look and feel their best. What began as a small salon specializing in color and extensions quickly became a thriving business, as well as a community of support for moms, both clients and staff, many of whom are working mothers.

The Birth of Shear Boutique

As Staci and Amanda's salon team expanded, they outgrew their original space. This led to a much larger space, and the addition of a women's fashion boutique within the salon. Partnering with their long-time childhood friend Becki Mahaney, who brings over 10 years of expertise in retail & fashion merchandising, Shear Boutique’s first retail location was born in 2020. “Adding the boutique was such a natural extension of our brand’s mission to support women by providing comfortable, on-trend fashion to our clientele, says Burton.”

Expanding Our Reach

In 2024, Shear launched an updated e-commerce site to bring the boutique experience to customers across the US and beyond. Our goal is to curate the site to help you find pieces for every aspect of your busy lifestyle, while also providing the newest fashion and lifestyle tips to keep you informed from head to toe. Whether shopping in-store or online, we are grateful for the opportunity to provide you with high-quality clothing that makes you look and feel beautiful.
